Hello everyone, My name is Harpreet and I am a part of PQP program, which is offered at SFU. PQP is a Professional Qualification Program which is for the people, who are already teachers from different counties, and are recertifying to teach in Canada. I have finished my short practicum from Serpentine Heights elementary school. To start with, I went to Secondary school and I taught science for two weeks. After teaching two weeks at Secondary school, I switched to an elementary school and I am very happy that I made a good decision. Now I am going to teach grade-4 or 5 for my long practicum and looking forward for getting good teaching techniques or strategies for reading and writing from the Language arts course, and also from my classmates. I would like to get familiarize myself with reading and writing process in an elementary school. My summer plans include attending full day classes for PQP until June 4th, attending 473w reading course, and making unit plans for my long practicum.
